About Us

Climate Smart Glacier is a non-profit focused on local climate solutions in and around Glacier National Park. Formed in Summer 2016, the organization is supported by Glacier National Park, the City of Whitefish, local schools, and many individuals, businesses and organizations.  Climate Smart Glacier seeks to promote learning and sharing of information about the implications of a changing climate in Flathead County.  Climate Smart Glacier works with partners to prepare for the impacts of climate change and offers opportunities for individual to engage in climate solutions.

  • Zero Waste webinars, events and pilot projects (i.e. Whitefish Farmer’s Market)
  • 180 HEPA filters distributed to at-risk, low-income households through our Wildfire and Health project
  • Expansion of clean air program to Early Childhood Education facilities and contract to establish three clean air centers
  • Initiating the flood preparedness project (Outreach, GIS mapping, …)
