Community Day of Action – Build Planter Beds at Whitefish Schools

Calling garden-oriented volunteers!  In preparation for the official launch of the new Center for Sustainability and Entrepreneurship (CSE) on April 21 at Whitefish High School, we seek volunteers to help build planter beds on Saturday, April 14.

This will be a fun opportunity for 40 volunteers to work 3-4 hours alongside carpenters from Martel Construction to build raised beds for the new production farm at the CSE. The morning work session is 8:30 – 11:30, and the afternoon session is 12:30 – 3:30.

  • Lunch provided

3 Work stations for the day:

  • Making outside planter beds
  • Filling greenhouse planter beds
  • Filling outside beds

Tools Needed: Shovels, Wheelbarrows, pocket knives, hand-saws, and clippers for cutting branches if needed

Bring water, gloves, and raincoat, layers!

The Grand Opening of the Center for Sustainability and Entrepreneurship will be April 21, 2018. CSE will serve as a hub for learning about agriculture, natural resources, forestry, renewable energy and entrepreneurship. K-12 students and community partners will participate in hands-on projects in this experiential learning center.
