Montana Dept. of Public and Health and Human Services and Climate Smart Glacier are pleased to present free indoor clean air training for HVAC professionals and Building Managers. This qualifies for Continuing Education Credits from the Building Performance Institute for HVAC professionals. The training is provided as part of a Clean Air Center grant from DPHHS to Climate Smart Glacier to establish three Clean Air Centers in Flathead County. The training is required for participating as a Clean Air Center and is open to other interested individuals. It is being hosted in partnership with FVCC’s Heating, Ventilation, Air-conditioning and Refrigeration program. The training is scheduled for April 23 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Flathead Valley Community College and food will be provided. Must register in advance.
This program is a part of Climate Smart Glaciers larger Fire Community Resilience program which is focused on providing clean air during times of dangerous wildfire smoke. We focus predominantly on at risk populations as well as providing education on the dangers of wildfire smoke to the broader community. This program includes our work providing HEPA air filters to Childcare Facilities as well as distribution of HEPA filters to at risk individuals through Logan Health. Climate Smart has been working with partners in the community since 2020 and have distributed almost 200 HEPA filters to address the impacts of wildfire smoke.
