Climate Smart Glacier releases Request for Qualifications for Flood Awareness GIS product

Climate Smart Glacier is pleased to release a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the development of an interactive ArcGIS StoryMap or similar product focused on flood awareness and preparedness in Flathead County.

This project will combine interactive mapping, historical storytelling, aerial imagery, flood modeling, and public education into a single web-based platform designed to help residents better understand flood risk while preserving and sharing the history of the 1964 flood. Our goal is to create an engaging public resource that serves homeowners, educators, real estate professionals, emergency managers, and local governments, while establishing the foundation for future mapping and resilience initiatives.

We recognize this is a unique project that blends GIS, storytelling, and public engagement. While the RFQ outlines our current vision, we welcome your ideas and recommendations. We are particularly interested in learning how your experience, technical approach, and creative thinking could strengthen the final product.

Please review the attached RFQ for project details, submission requirements, and the anticipated timeline. If you have any questions or would like clarification on any aspect of the project, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are happy to discuss the project with prospective respondents.
