Thanks for a Successful “Earth Month”!

April 22, 2021 was the 51st anniversary of the first Earth Day in 1970.  Over the years, Earth Day has been acknowledged by local governments, community groups, businesses, and schools to demonstrate the significance of a healthy environment.   This year, multiple cities in Flathead County passed Earth Day Proclamations.   We would like to thank the city councils of Columbia Falls, Kalispell, Whitefish and the Bigfork Chamber of Commerce for their leadership in passing these resolutions.   The cities encouraged citizens, businesses, and institutions to take part in activities to promote sustainability and conservation in their communities.     We would also like to thank the multiple organizations that organized field trips, clean-up days, virtual activities, film viewings, pollinator gardens, on-line calendars and other activities throughout the month of April to celebrate Earth Day.      While “Earth Month” is now behind us, let’s continue to support our planet and practice conservation year-round.
